Heute mit Jörg, Olli und Martin unserem Scout unterwegs im Osnabrücker Land: 100km, 1.000 Höhenmeter auf kleinen Wegen kreuz und quer durch die Gegend.
Martin kennt sich dort wirklich sehr gut aus, Straßenstücke im Umkreis von 50 km schicken automatisch eine SMS an ihn wenn sie wieder befahrbar sind. Wir hatten viel Spass und ein wenig Kuchen bei (Ewald) Lienen.
Osnabrück ist zum Glück nicht so weit weg wie Bad Harzburg, so dass man relativ lässig mit der Bahn dorthin und schnell wieder zurückkommen kann. Um 18 Uhr waren wir wieder in Bremen. Aber da war doch noch was? Richtig, Mondscheinfahrt um 19:15 Uhr an der Werderbank.
Und so warteten Olli und ich auf andere Mitstreiter und fuhren dann alleine los. Allerlei seltsame Gestalten kreuzten unsere Wege.
Aber irgendwie schafften wir es dann nach Hause. Auch Dank meines neuen Rücklichtes mit Laserkantenprojektion auf die Fahrbahn.
OK. Rücklicht? Check. Training? Check. Münsterland Giro? Möge kommen.

Hi Mob! Looks like autumn is shortening the days in Bremen as well. Impressed by the amount of bright light coming out of your front light. What kind of lamp are you using?

how nice to hear from you! Of course I am frequenty reading your bog … riding Onsen… taking your brother here and there …. I am still quite envious even afzer two years.
The days are getting shorter but still we can ride without light until 7 PM. Summertime saving time till mid October, then it will become dark.
I use two Busch and Müller Ixon IQ Speed lights at thr front connected to one rechargeable battery pack:

The units are very bright (50lux), less than 100g and run long time with one charge, up to 10 hrs in high power mode and up to 50 hours in low power mode.
It is also very easy to dettach and remove the lights from the hande bar.
For normal night city riding one light is more than enough. However, when I ride through the fields in the countryside I prefer two: One is lighting up the road surfacce just in front and the other one is pointing far ahead so I can see people etc. approaching.
All this has its price but I don’t believe it is exagerated. So far I am quite happy.

Thanks MOB!… was not familiar with the Busch & Muller brand. The long operating time is a great feature indeed. I got in the meantime the Cateye Nano Shot+ which is also quite bright (600 lumens) but only working approx. 1.5 h in Hi mode (USB charging lasts 8 hours!) Not suitable for night rides but OK for early morning rides.
